I have very mixed feelings about my recent check-up. The appointment was quick and efficient — maybe even a bit too quick. While I appreciated the streamlined experience, I felt dismissed when I raised additional concerns connected to my autoimmune condition (such as persistent fatigue, possible cortisol dysregulation, etc.). When I tried to discuss these symptoms and ask about how to manage them, I received responses like: “That’s normal for women,” or “There’s nothing we can do about that.” This kind of reaction left me feeling unheard and unsupported — especially as these issues continue to impact my quality of life. I fully respect Dr. Kasperk’s reputation and expertise in his field, but I would have appreciated a more empathetic approach and a willingness to explore possible solutions, even if only through guidance or referrals. In the end, the main takeaway from the appointment was a repeated reminder not to eat within 30 minutes of taking my thyroid medication — something I’ve already been doing consistently for 15 years. I was hoping for a bit more depth and support in managing the broader challenges of living with thyroid autoimmune disease.
